REVISION TO MASTERCARD ZERO LIABILITY RULE:EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 17, 2014 MasterCard is revising its rule on zero cardholder liability for unauthorized Transfers. Under the new rule, the MasterCard zero liability limitation for unauthorized transfers will now apply to PIN-based ATM and POS transfers. To be covered under the zero liability limitation under the revised rule, the cardholder must promptly report the loss or theft after becoming aware of (i.e. 2 business days after learning of the loss or theft of the access device). The revised rule eliminates the current MasterCard $50 liability limitation that applies if the conditions for zero liability are not met. As such, the elimination of the $50 liability cap may subject the cardholder to greater liability in certain circumstances. For more information, please visit http://www.mastercard.us/zero-liability.html *THIS CHANGE DOES NOT AFFECT BUSINESS CARDS.*
